Agriculture Credit Risk Management Training

On September 24, 2017, Afghanistan Microfinance Association (AMA) organized a five-day training (September 24 – September 28, 2017) on the subject of “Agriculture Credit Risk Management” for the middle and senior level management of its members in the conference hall of Safi Landmark hotel, Kabul.

The main purpose of holding this training was to build the capacity of its members’ employees, in particular, those who are either directly or indirectly involved in agricultural credit. At first, Mr. Grant Norris, the Deputy Chief of Party for Agricultural Credit Enhancement (ACE) officially inaugurated the training and delivered his speech on the importance of agricultural credit risk management. The participants received training provided by an international trainer, Mr. Michael Okwemba, throughout the five consecutive days where they also shared their own experiences, thoughts as well as challenges on the area of agricultural credit risk management ahead of their organizations with one other.

Throughout the course, two methods were utilized; the theoretical and practical, as there were presentations of the slides as well as many group works among the participants on various topics with both national and international live examples. This training was attended by a total number of 15 participants including two staff from AMA.

To officially close the training, Mr. Fahim Naimi, the Research and Communication Manager of AMA, was invited to the event. Mr. Naimi, made his closing remarks as he also listened to the feedback given by the participants, hailed the course expressing their satisfaction and promised to deliver what they have learned, to their respective DFIs.

At the end of the training, certificates of participations were distributed for the participants of the training.
