The Afghanistan Microfinance Association (AMA) held an Advisory Board meeting on July 14, 2025. The Board members from AMA member institutions participated in the session, during which they discussed key and fundamental issues related to the association and evaluated its performance over the first six months of the year. The conversations during the meeting highlighted how important and essential the AMA is to the microfinance sector in Afghanistan.
The Board reviewed the association’s current structure, membership policy, business license, and Bylaws to ensure compliance with the Microfinance Regulation and the requirements of the Ministry of Justice. As a result, a committee was assigned to conduct a thorough review of the Bylaws to ensure alignment with national regulations.
The Board also examined funding proposals submitted to donor agencies. Following detailed discussions, the Advisory Board approved key agenda items through formal resolutions and assigned dedicated committees to fulfill the specific requirements of various stakeholders.
