Meeting with the Governor of Sur-i-Pul Province

After holding a series of coordination meetings in the northern provinces, the AMA team organized a gathering on July 2, 2025, in Shabarghan City, Jawzjan Province, with microfinance institutions. AMA member organizations The First MicroFinance Bank, OXUS, and Mutahid participated to discuss the opportunities and challenges facing the microfinance sector in the province.

Following this meeting, AMA facilitated a face-to-face discussion between the MFIs and the Governor of Jawzjan. The aim was to build stronger connections between MFIs and government departments and to bring key issues directly to the attention of provincial leadership.

During the discussion, the Governor directed his office to arrange a broader meeting involving key provincial authorities. He encouraged the MFIs to present their activities and achievements in the province. This upcoming session will also help raise awareness of the microfinance sector among government officials. The MFIs agreed to prepare a detailed presentation for the Governor’s office in the near future.

On July 3, 2025, AMA organized a similar meeting with the Governor of Sur-i-Pul Province. MFIs operating in the province were invited to share updates on their activities and to explore ways of enhancing coordination with local government authorities.

AMA is fully committed to playing its crucial role within the sector and supporting its member institutions across the country through Lobbying and Advocacy, Coordination and Networking, Knowledge Management, and Capacity Building.
