AMA Organized Strategic Initiative

On April 13, 2025, the Afghanistan Microfinance Association (AMA) hosted an introductory session organized by the Microfinance Investment and Support Facility for Afghanistan (MISFA), focusing on Islamic Financing for Microfinance Institutions (MFIs).
In addition to highlighting the Islamic Financing opportunities provided by MISFA for the microfinance sector in Afghanistan, the session aimed to offer comprehensive guidance on the Annual Gap Assessment process. This assessment applies to both current MISFA partner institutions and new MFIs seeking funding for the first time. The methodology is based on a set of established Performance Standards, which were thoroughly explained during the session to ensure clarity and transparency.
Participants in the session was included representatives from both MISFA partner and non-partner MFIs, including:

– Shahy Khazana MFI
– Momin Afghan MFI
– Hassel MFI
– Mutahid MFI
– OXUS-MFI
– Aurum MFI

This important session marked a significant step toward enhancing understanding and implementation of Islamic Financing principles supported by MISFA. During the event, it was also reaffirmed that MISFA is committed to providing inclusive funding opportunities, aiming to extend financial services to all regions and communities across the country.
