The Afghanistan Microfinance Association (AMA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Harakat, a national NGO on May 12, 2025. Harakat is an independent, non-profit, Afghan-led organization established in 2008, dedicated to improving Afghanistan’s business environment. It provides grant funding to the private sector, government, and civil society to support initiatives that reduce barriers and foster a more enabling environment for business growth in the country.
This MoU creates a valuable opportunity for AMA and Harakat to collaborate toward shared development goals, including the expansion of microfinance program. This collaboration is expected to promote broader financial inclusion and support the growth and development of the private sector in Afghanistan. The partnership outlined in the MoU offers numerous strategic and operational advantages for both organizations, enabling them to amplify their impact and contribute more effectively to the country’s economic progress.
