CEO Coordination Meeting for Microfinance Sector

On August 7, 2025, OXUS Microfinance Institution proudly hosted a high level gathering of CEOs from the Microfinance Investment Support Facility for Afghanistan (MISFA), Agriculture Development Fund (ADF), Afghanistan Microfinance Association (AMA), Microfinance Institutions (MFIs), and Commercial Banks operating across the country.

The event aimed to promote knowledge sharing, strengthen coordination, and enhance collaboration within Afghanistan’s financial sector. During the discussions, CEOs offered valuable insights into future opportunities, particularly in expanding outreach to local communities especially returnees and emphasized the urgent need for joint efforts to drive meaningful improvements.

A key milestone celebrated during the event:

Over the past three years, MFIs, with both financial and institutional support from MISFA, have successfully provided access to Sharia-compliant financial services across the country. Through tailored Islamic finance products such as Murabaha and Musharaka, these institutions have reached over 100,000 clients, promoting financial inclusion while respecting cultural and religious values.

This achievement marks a significant step toward expanding inclusive financial access in the country.

As more MFIs expand their operations, we are confident that these services will reach even more client empowering Afghan families to grow their income, educate their children, access better healthcare, and build a brighter future.

Together, we can unlock prosperity and hope for millions across Afghanistan.
