On March 3, 2025, AMA hosted the second Microfinance Sector CEOs Coordination Meeting. The event was attended by the CEOs of key organizations, including the Microfinance Investment and Support Facility for Afghanistan (MISFA), the Agriculture Development Fund (ADF), The First Microfinance Bank (FMFB-A), OXUS-AF, and Mutahid-MFI. Additionally, CEOs and representatives from newly registered microfinance institutions (MFIs) including Momin Afghan MFI, Aurum MFI, Hassel MFI, Shahy Khazana MFI, and LAMEN MFI were invited to present their profiles and provide updates.
It was agreed that the new MFIs would submit their institutional profiles to AMA for membership consideration. MISFA and ADF committed to providing funding once the new MFIs begin their loan disbursement operations. Additionally, the new MFIs expressed concerns regarding staff capacity in Islamic financing and requested AMA’s support in facilitating staff development programs.
